ForeverLurking just crossed 200 million! Verdog and I are both closing in on it as well, we are still kicking some butt and overtaking teams more often than I thought we would, we are also in the top 150 teams as far as credits gained per 24 hours.
Also if you aren’t Folding yet, why aren’t you? We are team 261120 .

Lots of help tweaking can be found by asking here. I’m a smaller player (~6M points per month) but every little bit helps. Due to summer heat many of us have toned down our output.

Got it. Is this the kind of thing I can do with old hardware? Run the skinniest Linux distribution I can get to boot up, connect to the internet, and let the folding begin?

Nice!
I’m amazed at how much compute we’ve been able to put down. Hopefully today my rigs will turn back on, I shut them down during the hottest of summer and the last 2 weeks my AC has been on the fritz. There’s a tech downstairs working on it now to hopefully fix it.

Nice! I shut the client down over the weekend to play some 4K MSFS20 and forgot to turn it back on for a day. Ohh well, she needed a brea ther anyway.

I’m running two linux VMs on an old server. They don’t produce much, but every little bit helps. The biggest factor is the video card. My server doesn’t have a discrete GPU to assist, so it’s all CPU. When selecting a linux distro, make sure that both linux and folding@home support the video card. I have an older box with a GPU that I was planning to throw into the mix, but I discovered that folding@home doesn’t support the GPU.

Awesome, hope they got it fixed. My new case, fans and cooler finally arrived, going to try and move my system over and put my 1080ti back into the mix on top of my 2080ti.

Yes, finally had functioning AC again about 1 today so my downstairs rig got turned back on after the house cooled down.
Always exciting to get a new case and move everything around. Makes it all feel new again.
You’re already putting down 3.5 million PPD - and you’re going for more? That’s serious!

I’m hoping to get up to around 5 million PPD, if not a little more once I get everything up and going like I want. That way I can game and not lose too many PPD. I’m excited, this will be my first time in a long time that I have relatively new everything in my system.

The new flight sim was definitely been getting time on my GPU. I haven’t for the last couple days but it’ll likely be pulling some clocks again here this weekend.
That thing heats up my RX 5700 XT seriously at 1440p. The card sits there maxed the whole time.
